'Murder At The Moonshine Mingle'

Its Friday night, the town population doubled within an hour. The paddocks abandoned and the stage alight. Locals scurry away backstage as the visitors are seated.

Over the past months local farmers, publicans, teachers and more have gathered to rehearse, create and develop the show that was. Boomi BATS (Boomi Amateur Thespian Society) was established in 1991 with prospect to raise money for the local primary school. This year being their 19th production the BATS have become the main event of Boomi with people traveling up to 800km to attend.

The script written locally, the backdrops created in house and props made by their own. The show is Boomi right to the bones. 2023 saw 'Murder at the Moonshine Mingle' take Boomi back to the 1920's, with Giggle Juice being served everyone was bound for a good night.

A home cooked meal followed by a comedy filled show hosted with local talent making 180 visitors laugh their night away. A show that is truly remarkable and something you have to see to really believe. And even then you will be unable to imagine just the amount of time that goes into putting such a show on display for the wider community.

Boomi is a place of community, mate ship and solidarity. A place that comes together as one and is unstoppable.
